Sharing Christ’s Love & Hospitality With All
2022 Capital Campaign
Dear Brentwood Family,
It has been so exciting to watch Brentwood grow into a community that deeply values inclusivity, diversity and equity, both in word and deed. As we continue to grow, we want to further live into those values by creating a truly inclusive space inside our building that provides accessibility and hospitality for all.
That’s why we’ve launched our 2022 Capital Campaign: to live into the dream of building a truly inclusive community for all. Here’s what we’ve done so far:
- We’ve updated the sanctuary to make it accessible for those using wheelchairs and walkers
- We’ve added an accessible ramp on the west end
- We’re in the process of installing an automatic door to the west entry so it can be opened with the push of a button
- We’ve created a more accessible welcoming center and fellowship area with nice furnishings of varying heights for ease of access.
Now, we want to take this commitment even further by renovating our restroom area to create three new restrooms that are gender-neutral and fully accessible.
This is an ambitious plan and it will take all of us bringing our resources together to make it happen. But it will help us live into our declaration that “wide is God’s welcome and you are welcome here.” There is still work to be done in our building to show that we truly mean these words for our transgender and nonbinary siblings and for our siblings who use wheelchairs and walkers for mobility.
It is our sincere hope that you will join us in our efforts to create a more accessible and inclusive building by prayerfully considering how you can donate to support this effort. Pledges to the “Building a Truly Inclusive Community” Capital Campaign are above and beyond your regular giving and can be made with the intention to pay the amount immediately or to pay it off in one, two, three, four or five years (see the chart below).
You can fill out your online pledge using this form. Or, if you prefer, you can fill out a physical pledge card (located at the church) and drop it in the mail or Sunday offering plate.
You can learn more details about these plans by downloading this informational packet (PDF).
This is an exciting time in the life of our church and we are so grateful you all are a part of it! Thanks so much to each of you for helping us build a truly inclusive community at Brentwood Christian Church!
Sincerely,
The 2022 Capital Campaign Committee
